Bushcraft Day

August 16, 2023
SDS Gateway building, just off Mouse Lane
Steyning
Registration Closed

For 8-14 year olds. A day of fun in the woods, building shelters, cooking on an open fire, wood carving and more!

What to Bring

Please wear clothes you can get dirty in, with long trousers (no shorts) and bring waterproofs if the forecast is wet. Wear stout footwear (no open sandals). Please also bring your packed lunch and water to drink.

Arriving

We’ll be meeting at the SDS Gateway building, on the grassy bank behind Mouse Cottage on Mouse Lane at 10.00am sharp (postcode: BN44 3LX).  This is about 100 yards up Mouse Lane, on the left.

Please don’t try to park in Mouse Lane – it’s not suitable for lots of cars arriving at once.  If you need to come by car, please park in one of the Steyning town centre car parks and walk from there.

Leaving

We will be back at the Gateway at 3.30pm.  Please arrange for prompt collection of your child at this time.

Contact

Should you need to get in touch with us on the day, the Bushcraft leader will be Christine Humphries, mobile: 07791 437790, or contact the Project Manager, Matthew Thomas on 07763 206030.

Parents: You will need to complete a Parental Consent Questionnaire as part of your booking. In making this booking, you agree that while the Steyning Downland Scheme staff and volunteers will take all reasonable care, unless they are negligent they cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury suffered by your child arising during or out of the event.

PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to book for more than one child, please buy each ticket separately because we need to collect health and safety information specific to each child as part of the booking process.
