Spring is here!!..well almost and hopefully soon but at least the sun is out a lot longer and the weather is feeling milder. A perfect time to get stuck into an all new menu from Gutsy Chutney. We are collaborating with our local craft beer breweries to bring you a craft beer and food pairing event, because nothing does justice to spicy and flavourful Indian food like a cool pint (or two) of beer.

Please let us know of any allergies or dietary requirements. Vegetarian options available for all courses.

Starters

Tandoori machli / Tandoori Paneer (V) chaat - Succulent pieces of fish or paneer marinated in a traditional Punjabi spice blend served in edible baskets and garnished with refreshing mint yoghurt sauce.

Masala idlis - Soft steamed mini rice cakes lightly tempered with a spice blend of lentils and chillies (also called as gunpowder for its spice quotient, you have been warned :)).

Mains

Beef ularthiyuthu / Potato varathiyuthu (V) wrap – Beef ularithyuthu, a dry roast beef dish is a Kerala street food favourite, traditionally had with hot paratha and fresh toddy, a fermented beer from the sap of the palm tree. For the vegetarians, its one of my favourite dishes from my mom's cooking, a slow cooked potato and onion stir fry with Kerala spices. We keep the carbs in check by serving these dishes in a Korean style 'Ssam' lettuce wrap and garnished with fried coconut, curry leaves and raw mango pickle.

Murgh Makhni / Aloo palak (V) naan pie – The curry lovers favourite Murgh Makhni a.k.a. Butter Chicken OR Aloo palak, a creamy potato and spinach curry gets an English makeover in this East meets West dish.

Keema matar / Paneer bhurji (V) pav– Another street food favourite particularly in Mumbai, Keema matar is a spicy mince and green peas dish bears its origins to a Persian mince dish. The equally delicious Paneer bhurji, a cottage cheese mince dish with tomatoes and coriander is served tapas style in a warm hollowed out bun.

Dessert

Gajar Halwa empanadas – Grated carrot and milk come together beautifully in this traditional Indian sweet.
