OBIAA’s Commitment to Accessibility
The Ontario BIA Association (OBIAA) recognizes the importance of accessibility to Ontario’s continued growth. OBIAA is committed to building sustainable communities and business through inclusive practices. This commitment is shared through its representation, support, and encouragement of business improvement areas (BIAs) to increase the effectiveness and contribution to the economic, cultural and social well-being of communities in Ontario through accessibility.
Go ON: Building Accessible Communities
Go ON: Building Accessible Communities is a 15-month provincial outreach strategy to educate BIAs and their local business members about the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). The project will educate BIA staff and local businesses across Ontario on the AODA through a series of workshops and webinars, with accompanying tools and resources, developed and delivered by Accessibility Ontario. The project will culminate with the launch of a new Ontario MainStreet Accessibility Award program to celebrate and recognize best practices in accessibility by BIAs and businesses across Ontario.
