Accessibility is Good for Business

What businesses need to know and do!

Do you know what your requirements are under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)? Do you know how to use accessibility to build profit, strengthen employee retention, gain new and repeat customers?

Join us for this free 2-hour workshop: "Accessibility is Good for Business". The workshop will include:

  • The business case for accessibility
  • Practical tips and best practices for BIAs and their communities
  • A clear understanding of what you need to do to comply with the AODA
  • Tools and resources for you to take away
  • Opportunity to ask an accessibility expert your questions
  • Network and coordinate with BIA and community members

Should you require more information or have any accommodation needs, please contact Constance Exley, Go ON Project Manager: training@accessontario.com or 647-502-7047.

In consideration of others, this workshop is scent-free and the venue is accessible.

OBIAA’s Commitment to Accessibility

The Ontario BIA Association (OBIAA) recognizes the importance of accessibility to Ontario’s continued growth. OBIAA is committed to building sustainable communities and business through inclusive practices. This commitment is shared through its representation, support, and encouragement of business improvement areas (BIAs) to increase the effectiveness and contribution to the economic, cultural and social well-being of communities in Ontario through accessibility.

Go ON: Building Accessible Communities

Go ON: Building Accessible Communities is a 15-month provincial outreach strategy to educate BIAs and their local business members about the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). The project will educate BIA staff and local businesses across Ontario on the AODA through a series of workshops and webinars, with accompanying tools and resources, developed and delivered by Accessibility Ontario. The project will culminate with the launch of a new Ontario MainStreet Accessibility Award program to celebrate and recognize best practices in accessibility by BIAs and businesses across Ontario.
