Michelle MillerAllen is renewing her Green Phoenix Creativity Workshops - something she offered in New Mexico and now wishes to offer in the UK. This first workshop is FREE as a taster, to help Michelle de-rust her tools, and she will request your feedback at the end (anonymous, short form). We are only offering a very limited number of spaces, due to the informal, intimate nature of the workshop. Registration deadline is 23rd February. Even if you have told us by email or in person that you plan to attend, please register online so we can hold your place. We will email you traveling directions once you register.
The workshop is primarily for writers (beginners or old hands) but can also be useful for artists or anyone in a creative pursuit. We will do a guided meditation to help unlock your inner gifts, some group exercises to re-wire your creative circuits, and a period of solo writing.
Come prepared for some "serious play” - creativity enhancement techniques which Michelle has found useful in her own writing. These can work for writers/artists of any genre and skill level, to help them access their passionate, creative centre.
This will be a pressure-free experience; if you want to share what you create at the end of the session (whilst we break for coffee, tea and cake), you are invited to. If you do not wish to, that is totally acceptable, as the purpose of the day is to exercise your creative muscles, not to "produce something".
Requirements: Anyone age 16 to 100; dress comfortably; bring a notepad or sketchpad and pencil/pen. (Or laptop or ipad if you prefer) There is one very small bit of "advance homework" which will be sent to you by email before the day.

We are quite thrilled to be offering this creative writing workshop at Bulliondale Cottage Retreat Centre. Jen Lim is nurturing her plans for future events at the retreat house which is set atop a hill overlooking the village of Avonbridge, immediately surrounded by a wildlife site, a historic stone quarry, and the River Avon. Bulliondale features sunlit rooms, lovely stone-lined decks for contemplation, and paths to walk right out the door.
Bulliondale—as the name implies—is a place of rich resources for mining precious peace, solitude and quiet inspiration. We love word play, so we sometimes also spell it “Boulliondale”, as it also provides a place for mixing the rich broth of creativity with the peaceful surroundings of nature. (One of Jen's retreat-centre concepts is group veggie chopping and soup-making in the big kitchen whilst sharing warmth, ideas and insights).
