Come join us on Thursday, September 19th at the Chainsaw Saloon for our winter term Tech Start-Up Recruiting and Information Event!
This is a FREE event.
Working for a startup gives you the opportunity to manage your own tasks, watch your deliverables hit the market and be in an awesome environment!
Many of the startups attending have positions to fill and are looking for students like YOU to join their team, so come to Chainsaw and engage in conversation to learn more about the companies and what they have to offer.
Check out the video below from one of our previous events:
Not only is this a great way for you to learn more about working for a startup by talking to founders and staff, but you can also enjoy the FREE poutine and FREE drinks, with FREE beer starting at 7:30 p.m.
And of course, there will be nerf gun giveaways and Vidyard will be presenting the popular live coding challenge - where the winner will be offered an internship/co-op job on the SPOT!
You don't need to be 19 to come, but you DO need to bring your ID and a few resumes.

At Auvik Networks, we believe that networking is too complex in the IT environment. Unless you have a dedicated team of networking engineers it's hard to make time to stay on top of the best practices for monitoring and securing your network, let alone actually configure everything. The result is an inflexible network that can't keep up with the latest trends.
Auvik wants to make networking easier. Through the use of some really cool technology, Auvik's cloud managed network automation platform dramatically simplifies the way IT configures, monitors, and manages its network.

MetricWire
We're an early-stage software startup based at VeloCity Garage in downtown Kitchener founded by three passionate Waterloo students. We're revolutionizing academic research by providing researchers with a tool that they can use to gather the kinds of data that will accelerate groundbreaking research.
MetricWire is a online platform that allows researchers to design and deploy studies via the smartphone without having to hire a developer themselves. Unlike traditional survey platforms like SurveyMonkey and Qualtrics, which can only be used to distribute one-time surveys, MetricWire is a way to monitor ongoing activities and responses of participants by tapping into the sensors on their smartphone and wearable devices paired with the smartphone.
We have garnered significant interest within the research community. Several researchers at Waterloo, Laurier, and Stanford will be running studies as soon as this Fall term, and many more told us about their ideas for breakthrough research that can be conducted in the future with our platform. We're hiring only because customers are banging on our doors wanting to give us money.
